1.  Maintain a healthy lifestyle 

Be sure to eat nutritious meals and snacks, prenatal vitamins, exercise, and adequate sleep. 

2. Wash your hands regularly

Wash your hands before and after eating, after using the bathroom, and after handling anything when outside the home such as doorknobs, money, etc. If you have been around anyone who has a cold, avoid touching their hands.

3. Avoid sharing dishes with someone who has a cold. 

Sometimes it can be tricky to know when someone close to you may have a cold or infection. To keep yourself safe drink from your own cup and eat from your own plate.

4. Do not touch your face when out and about 

Keep your hands away from your face especially your eyes and nose. When you are out and about there is a high chance that you will touch surfaces where viruses are lingering. Touching your face after coming in contact with these surfaces increases your risk of infection.

5. Stay away from anyone who has a cold, if possible
