Chocolate cake is typically an easy dessert to whip up without taking up much of your time. Even if you choose to start from scratch the time is still not much more consuming. There are many recipes to choose from when it comes to this yummy treat.
The following recipe for chocolate cake is made from scratch and one that has been manipulated repeatedly for some time. The reason being is to create a moist tasting cake with minimal dryness. Also further below is a recipe for vanilla butter cream.
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 and 1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs at room temperature (blended well)
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 180 (350)
In a bowl combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add in milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix for 2 minutes.
Add in blended eggs.
Mix for
2 minutes more.
Grease a 9 X13 pan.
Pour in cake mixture.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until
inserted toothpick comes out clean.
Vanilla butter cream
Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups icing sugar
1/3 cup milk
Preparation:
Combine all and mix until texture is white and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes)
