Super Moist Chocolate Cake

I have made several chocolate cakes. Each time I make one I tend to slightly change the recipe from the previous one. I want my cakes to be very moist. I got a very nice result with this one. Even after 5 days the cake was still very moist. This is one worth trying. This recipe is made completely from scratch with simple ingredients and the preparation is quick and easy.

Ingredients:

2cups flour
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup oil
1 cup boiling water
1cup full fat (whole) milk
2 large eggs (whisked)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Method:

Preheat oven to 350 F (175 C)

Grease and flour one 9 x 13 pan or two 9 inch round pans.
Mix ingredients together in a large bowl. I did mine in the following order:
- eggs
- oil
- milk
- boiling water
- mix all dry ingredients in a separate bowl (sifted flour and cocoa)
- add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients
- add vanilla
Mix well and then pour in pan(s).

* The batter should be thin.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Check with toothpick to ensure good timing.

Frost your cake as you desire. I tasted mine prior to frosting. After a few pieces as is, I decided not to frost it. It tasted nice without. Especially with a hot cup of coffee!!!

Enjoy :)

  5. You know I love chocolate cake. Just did one on my blog too. (semi-homemade) I see one different item....boiling water. I'm always changing up my recipe also. I'm keeping the boiling water in mind the next time I bake a homemade chocolate cake. It's probably a key ingredient for keeping it moist.

    1. Hi Sharon!
When I went looking for ways to get a moist cake I found one recipe that added in boiling coffee. I couldn't add the coffee (some people do not like coffee flavor) so decided to try the water only.
This is the best one I have ever made. Thus far :)
